Healthcare Where It’s Needed Most

With over half of the world’s population living without access to essential healthcare services, expectant mothers and children are facing real problems. Our belief is that good healthcare should not be dependent on our financial status and that every individual should have access to this right.

In 2017, 5.4 million children under the age of five died and the risk of infantile death is eight times higher in Africa than it is in Europe. Alongside this, the same study revealed that globally 810 expectant mothers died every day from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Perhaps even more shockingly, 94% of all maternal deaths occur in low and lower-middle income countries.

Healing Lives Through Medical Aid

Since 2019, Al-Fikr has organised over 50 medical camps and treated over 30,000 patients through the Medical Aid project.

In rural areas, there are often no facilities available for basic health care needs. The few that are there are under-staffed and mismanaged. Due to such circumstances, the poor living in these remote locations go on suffering from easily preventable diseases.

Al-Fikr sponsors health camps in such remote locations and arranges for medical teams, medical supplies and medicines to benefit the poor. Patients identified at the Medical Camps who need more in-depth treatment are helped and taken care of by our Medical experts.

Wheel Chairs

In order to combat the issue of disability, we launched the Wheelchair campaign, underneath our broad Medical aid projects. In total, we’ve given over 100 wheelchairs to the elderly, the sick and those with disabilities such as paralysis or birth defects. By donating wheelchairs to those who are suffering from the most severe physical conditions, including those having been involved in traumatising accidents, we enable individuals to continue with their day-to-day activities.

Millions of people are currently facing severe disability discrimination across the globe, especially in developing countries where there is a lack of education. Many physically disabled people don’t have the resources to buy the wheelchair that is appropriate for their needs.

An estimated 25 million people in Pakistan live with disabilities or functional limitations, many facing daily barriers to opportunity and inclusion. Your support can help provide the assistance, dignity, and opportunities they deserve.

And whoever saves one life, it is as if they saved all of humanity.
